Engineering services in Darwin

In Northern Territory we provide structural engineering for cyclone-rated sheds and workshops, patios, carports and decks, shipping container buildings, fences and shade sails.

The Northern Territory uses private building certifiers under the Building Act, and Darwin, Palmerston and the rural area sit in cyclonic wind Region C. That means cyclonic factors, internal pressure assumptions and low-high-low fatigue requirements for cladding, screws and battens; tie-down chains checked from roof sheet to footing; and wind-rated roller doors. Southern kit sheds need complete re-engineering before they are suitable here.

Wet-season rainfall, high humidity and coastal salt call for higher corrosion classes on steel and fasteners, and flood levels affect floor heights on low-lying land. We are registered in the NT and our drawings are prepared for lodgement with your certifier; if they have a question about the engineering, we answer it.

Bought a shed kit from interstate? Send the member sizes and we will tell you what needs to change for Region C.

Engineering without the guesswork

Three steps from first enquiry to drawings you can lodge with council or your certifier.

01

Tell us what you’re building

Share your plans, sketches or site details. Please give the maximum dimensions you want quoted. Increasing them later may require a revised quote.

02

Review your scope and fixed fee

We confirm exactly what the engineering covers and what it costs. Nothing to pay until you accept.

03

Receive your engineering drawings

After acceptance and payment, we prepare your stamped drawings and answer any council questions about them if needed.
